 Characterization

 Describe a character from the book. Say why you like / dislike the character.
Ed Boone
Single father of Christopher. Father prepares meals for Christopher and sees to his daily needs. Later on, Christopher uncovers elements of his life that he has long tried to keep hidden. Father owns a heating maintenance and boiler repair business.


Christopher’s father often goes to extremes when demonstrating his emotions, occasionally blowing up in anger, and he lacks the confidence to work through his problems verbally. When trying to explain himself he stutters and stops and often has trouble connecting sentences. Like Christopher, he has very few friends—Rhodri is the only one the novel mentions. He also feels emotionally devastated by the way his relationship with his wife (Christopher’s mother) ended two years earlier, and because he has no one to help him cope with his emotions, he bottles them up until he explodes in anger during stressful situations.

In my opinion it is disgusting that Ed Boone didn`t tell the truth to Christopher about his mother.

    and this is sparknotes. I'm a little disappointed. If you don't want to do the work, just don't do it. Safe us both the time. I had really hoped in this action plan there would be something interesting for everyone, but I guess you didn't really like any of the tasks enough to actually put the effort into doing one?

2. entry Reflection Write down your first impresssions of the book . Ask some questions. Copy whole passages that are difficult or that you really like a lot. When I read the first page I really wanted to carry on reading this book! The first thing I realized is that the chapters have prime numbers and the characters have really strange names like ‘Siobhan’. I also think that Christopher Boone (protagonist) is a special boy, because he knows all the countries of the world and their capital cities and every prime number up to 7.507. He seems to be a genius. Also he can’t understand emotions, which I think is very unusual. I’m glad that the language is easy to understand. I laughed my socks off. He was the apple of her eye. They had a skeleton in the cupboard. We had a real pig of a day.
